To install Voice Operator Panel (VOP) with PBXnSIP you need to create a user account that VOP will use to register to the PBXnSIP server.
Log to the PBXnSIP admin web interface and select: Accounts > Create.
Select "Extension" as the Account Type, enter a phone number, a First Name, a Last Name, a SIP password, then click on "Create".
For this tutorial we will use the phone number "901" and the SIP password "secret".
Now you need to add the IP address of the PC running VOP to the whilelist of PBXnSIP.
Click on Admin > Settings > Access, add the IP address of the PC then click on "Create".
This is an important step because the PC running VOP can be blacklisted because of the high amount of data transfered when monitoring a lot of phones.
The VOP user account at PBXnSIP is now configured, you can now start VOP and configure it through the wizard:
"Enter your display:" - Enter the name (caller ID) of the application. ("VOP" for example)
"Enter your user name:" - Enter the phone number of the PBXnSIP account. ("901" in our tutorial)
"Enter your proxy host name or address:" - Enter the host/domain name of your PBXnSIP server.
"Enter your proxy port:" - Leave it to zero.
"Enter your proxy user name:" - Leave it blank.
"Enter your proxy password:" - Enter the password of the PBXnSIP account. ("secret" in our tutorial)
"Enter your voicemail phone number:" - Enter the phone number to dial to reach the voicemail of the VOP account. (it is the VOP phone numer, "901" in our tutorial)
Finish the wizard by entering other information not related to PBXnSIP.
VOP will start and register to your PBXnSIP server.
There is an additional setting that you need to enter in VOP through the Settings window:
Enter the call intercept code "*87$" in: Settings > Account > Call intercept code.
Click on Save and restart VOP.
You will now need to build the Local directory of VOP with the users/phones at your PBXnSIP server.
First you will need to remove the dummy/example user "Doe, John" by right-clicking on him and selecting: User > Remove.
For each user you want to add you need to right-click in the Local directory and select: User > Add.
To enable phone presence for the phone contact of the user you created, you need to right-click on the phone contact and select: Contact > Presence > Enable.
You should now see all your users in the Local directory with a green phone icon that will change to show the phone status (available, ringing, busy) and if you expand a user you will be able to see every calls on his phone (call direction/state, caller/ee name), you will also be able to intercept/steal any call by right-clicking on the phone (or the call) and selecting: Intercept.
You have now fully configured VOP for your PBXnSIP server.
If you have any problem press Alt-D to show the debug window of VOP, you should be able to read the problem from there.
